Online Latin Language and Latinum Exam Prep Course

The Online Latin Language and Latinum Exam Prep Course prepares learners thoroughly for official state Latinum examinations, including both the Kleines Latinum and the comprehensive Latinum (Großes Latinum). Designed for prospective and current university students who require verified Latin language proficiency for degree programs in philosophy, theology, history, or Romance languages, this curriculum also caters to cultural enthusiasts seeking classical language proficiency.

The curriculum establishes a strong linguistic foundation in Latin grammar, morphology, syntax, and foundational vocabulary before progressing to advanced translation practice. Students analyze and interpret seminal classical texts by historical figures and authors such as Caesar, Cicero, Sallust, Seneca, Ovid, and Virgil, while deepening their understanding of Roman civilization, historical contexts, and ancient philosophical thought.

Learning takes place fully remotely through an integrated delivery model comprising structured study booklets, a modern online learning portal, and personalized instructor evaluations of written submissions. Students also benefit from 24/7 intelligent study support via the AI learning assistant KILEA, complete scheduling flexibility over six to ten months, and a complimentary study duration extension period of up to fifty percent.

This program is open to all learners without specific academic prerequisites for enrollment. Candidates intending to sit for the official external state Latinum examination must hold an Abitur or equivalent qualification. Enrollment is available directly online at any time throughout the year.
