Online Garden Design and Landscape Architecture Course

This distance learning program empowers creative individuals, passionate hobby gardeners, and industry professionals to turn outdoor spaces into flourishing, well-structured havens. Designed for anyone wishing to design a new garden from scratch or reimagine an existing landscape, the curriculum requires no prior botanical or construction experience. It provides essential qualifications for personal design projects, while also opening new career opportunities for retail nursery staff, garden center advisors, and prospective landscape design entrepreneurs.

The curriculum systematically guides participants through the fundamental stages of practical horticultural planning and landscape creation. Students delve into garden history and aesthetics, botany, plant selection, soil science, plant nutrition, and local climatic conditions, while mastering plant protection techniques and environmental care. Advanced modules cover structural hardscaping, including path layout, terrace paving, retaining walls, steps, and water feature construction, alongside specialized training in ornamental shrub pruning, lawn installation, and kitchen garden management.

Learning takes place flexibly through twelve comprehensive study booklets delivered in both print and digital formats, paired with access to the modern online study center. Participants work independently at a pace of roughly four to six hours per week, supported by self-test exercises, model answers, and mandatory graded assignments. An experienced personal tutor reviews submissions in detail and answers subject-matter questions, while interactive webinars and community discussion forums facilitate ongoing academic exchange throughout the course duration.

This program is open to all learners without specific prerequisites. Enrollment is available directly through the institution's website, and participants can begin their studies at any time with a four-week trial period.
