Online Commercial Business Management Specialist (HwO) Program

This distance learning program qualifies aspiring leaders, master craftspersons, and technical specialists to assume commercial leadership and management responsibilities across craft businesses and manufacturing enterprises. Designed in compliance with the German Craft Code (HwO), the curriculum equips participants with the operational, financial, and legal competencies necessary to manage enterprise growth, plan corporate restructuring, or navigate business succession.

The curriculum encompasses enterprise competitiveness, operational accounting, financial administration, and corporate governance. Students master foundational bookkeeping, cost accounting, annual financial statements, civil and commercial law, as well as employment and tax legislation. The practical curriculum also incorporates specialized training in corporate foundation planning, strategic management, market positioning, and computer-aided bookkeeping utilizing the industry-standard software Lexware buchhalter.

Delivered through a flexible blended learning methodology, the program provides comprehensive digital and printed study materials, hands-on case studies, and continuous academic guidance via the online campus. Participants consolidate their knowledge through an included three-day intensive exam preparation seminar held in Hamburg, ensuring thorough readiness for the official Chamber of Skilled Crafts examination, which also covers Part III of the master craftsman qualification.

Admission to the study course requires a completed vocational qualification. Formal admission to the Chamber of Skilled Crafts examination requires a successfully completed journeyman or vocational training qualification in a recognized three-year occupation, or a two-year vocational qualification accompanied by two years of practical work experience.
