Program Description
The Online Styrian Accordion Repertoire Song Collection provides targeted instruction for accordion players of various proficiency levels seeking to expand their musical repertoire. Designed for both beginner and advanced musicians playing three-row or four-row Styrian accordions, the course delivers structured song tutorials across traditional folk music, polkas, waltzes, and contemporary arrangements.
The curriculum encompasses an extensive selection of over two hundred individual pieces categorized by difficulty from easy to advanced. Students study fundamental playing techniques, fingering patterns, row transitions, and bass changes through specific pieces such as traditional Alpine folk songs, regional waltzes, and popular adaptations. Lessons address technical challenges including alternating bass accompaniment, dotted notes, phrasing, and hand coordination.
Learning is conducted through self-paced video lessons that incorporate synchronized Griffschrift notation and visual MIDI indicator bars to show active notes in real time. Each tutorial features an integrated looping function enabling learners to repeat challenging sections at reduced tempos until mastery is achieved. Instructional videos support both B/Es/As/Des and G/C/F/B accordion tunings, and students receive permanent digital access to purchased lesson videos and accompanying notation.
