Online Safeguarding Children Level 2 Healthcare Training

This intermediate-level safeguarding program is designed for healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and healthcare assistants who interact with children and young people. The curriculum builds upon foundational child protection knowledge to address complex safeguarding scenarios encountered in clinical and care settings. Participants develop the essential competence required to protect vulnerable children, advocate on their behalf, and fulfill statutory compliance obligations across healthcare organizations.

The curriculum examines critical safeguarding topics, such as identifying physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as understanding how parental mental health or substance misuse can impact child wellbeing. Specific modules explore complex child protection risks including female genital mutilation, modern slavery, grooming, trafficking, and radicalisation. Participants also gain thorough instruction on documenting concerns accurately, distinguishing between fact and opinion, sharing information lawfully, and making formal child protection referrals.

Delivered entirely online through interactive e-learning, the course integrates real-world scenarios, contextual exercises, and knowledge checks formatted to WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards. Learners can assess their existing understanding through an initial self-assessment tool or proceed directly through the forty-five-minute modular training. The course is mapped to the UK Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework and concludes with a multiple-choice assessment leading to an independently certified CPD digital certificate.
