Program Description

This program introduces participants to the fundamentals and creative applications of hand lettering using a standard pencil and sketchpad. Designed for beginners as well as experienced hobbyists, the curriculum teaches structured drawing and writing techniques that can be practiced without specialized calligraphy tools.

The curriculum encompasses eight modules covering 31 individual lessons. Topics include warm-up drills, basic print and script alphabets, faux calligraphy, serif and display typefaces, letterform modifications, cross-hatching, shading methods, decorative doodles, and three-dimensional lettering effects.

Instruction is delivered entirely online through eleven hours and 27 minutes of on-demand video tutorials, supplemented by recorded live sessions and an optional downloadable practice workbook. Learners can access all materials on computers, tablets, or smartphones at their own pace.
