Program Description
This program provides practical instruction for sewists and craft enthusiasts seeking to operate overlock sewing machines with proficiency and precision. The curriculum accommodates absolute beginners who have never handled a serger, as well as experienced sewers seeking to expand their technical stitching capabilities and eliminate operational challenges.
The instructional content begins with machine anatomy, needle classification, thread types, and dual threading methods, followed by thread tension regulation and differential feed calibration. Students systematically practice up to 22 distinct stitch variants, including 4-thread overlock, flatlock, superstretch, rolled hem, and decorative edging, while learning decorative techniques such as gathering, ruffling, inserting elastic, and applying beads using specialized presser feet across two practical sewing projects.
Instruction is provided through 44 self-paced video lessons comprising more than six hours of video content. Learners retain flexible access to all step-by-step demonstrations, machine cleaning guides, and troubleshooting tutorials designed for use with any standard serger brand or model.
