Online Handlettering and Modern Calligraphy Course

This program introduces participants to the fundamentals of handlettering and modern decorative calligraphy. Designed for beginners as well as intermediate lettering enthusiasts, the course covers lettering concepts from initial stroke mechanics to finished artistic compositions. Participants develop practical handwriting and illustration techniques to create cards, posters, and personalized design pieces.

The curriculum consists of nine sequential modules comprising over 65 individual lessons. Core topics include brush lettering pen grips and stroke controls, typographic fundamentals, bounce lettering, ribbon lettering, rope lettering, faux calligraphy, and character illustration. Additional training modules focus on layout planning, color blending, digitization methods, smartphone photography for artwork, and dedicated techniques tailored for left-handed writers.

Instruction is delivered entirely online via the Manylearn platform through approximately eight hours of high-definition video tutorials. Learners receive lifetime access to course materials, including fifty downloadable exercise worksheets, eight standalone guides, and proprietary digital tools such as the Style Picker and Layout Designer. Self-paced progression allows students to practice independently and review lesson content at any time.
