Program Description
The Online Beginner Cello Fundamentals Course provides an introductory curriculum for children and adults who wish to learn the cello without prior musical experience. The program establishes fundamental instrumental mechanics and music reading skills in a structured, step-by-step progression suitable for independent study.
The curriculum covers instrument anatomy, correct posture, holding the cello and bow, and foundational music notation. Practical modules focus on right-hand bowing technique, left-hand finger positioning on the fingerboard, intonation exercises, and the coordination required to play initial tones, scales, and complete beginner pieces.
Instruction consists of eight sequential video lessons of approximately 25 minutes each, accompanied by downloadable sheet music and practice guides. Designed around a recommended study schedule of one lesson per week over an eight-week span, the course provides self-paced digital access with optional personal support sessions conducted via Zoom.
